Facts about Bankia
Bankia lies at an altitude of 630 to 750 m. The landscape is
varied and very beautiful. The mountain influence makes Bankia’s
temperate continental climate pleasantly bracing. The town’s
lovely scenery, healing mineral waters and spa centres with
highly-skilled medical staff have made Bankia a prestigious
national and international resort and nature reserve of Sofia.

One of the secrets of Bankia’s wonderful climate is the 'upper'
and the 'lower' wind that changes direction several times a day,
keeping the air fresh and clean. Summers here are fresh, autumns
are warm and sunny, and winters are moderately cold.
These climatic conditions are favourable for year-round
treatment, general preventive care and health improvement.

Bankia’s waters come from several natural springs and wells, all
fed by a single hydrothermal source, and range in temperature
from 24° to 37°С. These soft and clear hydrocarbon-sulphate-sodium
thermal waters have a low mineral content, no colour or smell,
and are very pleasant to drink. The famous 'Bankia' mineral
water is bottled here.
Bankia is a national centre for health improvement and
rehabilitation of people suffering from cardiovascular, nervous,
locomotory and metabolic diseases and disorders. |
